Is Anything Too Difficult for the Lord?

Genesis 18:14              "Is anything too difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son."

Have you ever faced a situation in your life that seemed utterly impossible? I know I have. Every time I read the story of Abraham and Sarah I am quickly reminded of God's faithfulness, and a fresh dose of hope fills my heart.

I'm sure I don't have to go into great detail regarding how impossible it must have seemed, to both Abraham and Sarah, for them to have a child at their age. When Sarah first heard that she would give birth in a year, she laughed. Sometimes what God speaks to us can seem so impossible that all we can do is laugh.

But God is not a man that He should lie. If He said it, He will do it. Just as He spoke to Abraham and Sarah's impossibility, He speaks to ours and says "Mark my word. At the time I designate, you will have what I have spoken."

Sure, there will be times when you may be tempted to doubt what God has spoken to you. But just as Abraham heard God speak these words, let them ring out and echo in your spirit, soul, and body…Is anything too difficult for the Lord? The answer is a resounding NO!

Pray this prayer right now:

Father, give me the courage to believe Your promises even in the face of an impossible situation. Help me to trust only in what You have spoken, rather than what I see with my natural eyes. Give me the boldness to step out and act on what You have promised knowing that You will never go back on Your word. In Jesus' name. Amen!
